Letter to John Erskine in Scotland from an unidentified correspondent. The author addresses Erskine as "Revrd. & Dear Brother" but later comments, "You'll pardon this Freedom from a Stranger." The letter discusses Presbyterian missionary work in the American colonies; the author remarks, "There are great Numbers of People upon the Borders of this Province and Pennsylvania that live destitute of Gospel Ordinances and but little better than in a State of Heathenism."
